Purim is the holiday where Jews around the world celebrate our people's victory over persecution and oppression personified by the evil Haman. We remember Haman, who received his just dessert (pun intended) in being hanged, by baking a triangular fruit-filled pastry for Purim called hamentaschen (Haman's pockets in Yiddish) which represents Haman's three-cornered hat.
