My favorite Passover side dish at the Seder meal is tsimmes. Nobody makes this holiday delicacy of cooked vegtables and fruits better than the deli mavens at Max and Benny's in Northbrook. Since preparing tsimmes back in the day was a long process, the term "tsimmes" became Yiddish slang for a big deal or a long drawn-out process. But today with modern kitchen technology being what it is, the preparation time has been dramatically reduced and we can truly say that it's no big tsimmes to find wonderful and scrumptious tsimmes for Passover at Max and Benny's.
